Pevsner Ring Series

These ring designs were developed and then launched at the Goldsmiths Fair 2004. I designed the first one as a commission for Mr. Pevsner. See 'Commissions 2005'. The rings focus on celebrating large beautiful stones. I wanted to avoid the traditional claw settings and used buttresses as a means of supporting a light gold frame setting. In some rings, the buttresses have become a decorative design feature in their own right as well as a structural element. They can be delicately tapering posts or flying buttresses, the stone dictating the final choice. This series is continuing to evolve.
